北京时间5月9日8：00（悉尼时间5月9日10：00）澳大利亚黄金海岸市，在国际世界运动会协会2019年全会上，成都成功获得2025年世界运动会举办权。
现场，国际世界运动会协会执委会向所有37个会员国际单项体育联合会提交了《成都2025世界运动会申办报告》评估结果。与会全体代表投票决定：将2025年世界运动会举办权授予成都。成都代表团向大会进行了主题陈述和展示，并在中国奥委会副主席见证下，与国际世界运动会协会签订正式主办合同。
继2019第18届世界警察和消防员运动会（以下简称“世警会”）、2021第31届世界大学生夏季运动会（以下简称“大运会”）、2022第56届世界乒乓球团体锦标赛（以下简称“世乒赛”）之后，成都再次赢得国际重磅体育赛事举办权。记者获悉，经过激烈角逐，北京时间5月9日在澳大利亚，成都正式获得2025年世界运动会（以下简称“世运会”）举办权。成都是中国大陆第一个举办这项赛事的城市。通过举办国际体育赛事，成都越来越成为世界目光的焦点。这是新时代赋予成都的历史使命，这将为成都加快建设世界赛事名城助力。
又一项重大国际赛事花落蓉城
世运会是由国际世界运动会协会（IWGA）主办的一项国际性体育盛会，竞赛项目以非奥运会项目为主，于1981年首次举办，每4年举行一次，每届于奥运会次年举行，目的在于发展各项运动，被称为“非奥运项目的奥运会”。开办以来，国际世界运动会协会与国际奥委会互动良好，接受奥运原则。截至目前共举办了十届，第十一届世界运动会将于2021年在美国伯明翰举行。世运会是非奥项目最高水平的国际综合性运动会，与奥运会相互促进、相互补充，共同致力于在世界范围内促进体育运动的发展和奥林匹克精神的传播。中国大陆此前从未举办过世运会，成都是中国大陆第一个申办这项赛事的城市。
成都正积极推进世界文化名城建设，明确提出打造“三城三都”的战略蓝图。继成功申办世警会、大运会、世乒赛之后，成都再次拿下世运会举办权，是成都建设世界赛事名城决心和信心的体现，也是成都创建世界赛事名城的重要举措。通过场馆建设进一步夯实世界赛事名城载体支撑，通过赛事举办进一步扩大世界赛事名城的国际影响力，提升成都的城市影响力和知名度，扩大对外合作和国际交流。
世运会将为成都带来更多国际元素
今年三月，国际世界运动会协会副主席Max Bishop、首席执行官Joachim Gossow一行来蓉考察。他们参观考察了成都规划馆、高新区体育中心、皇冠湖体育中心、成都大学、中国—欧洲中心、锦城湖、江滩公园、宽窄巷子、夜游锦江等项目。Max Bishop说：“成都对环保的重视与IWGA的理念高度契合，成都申办团队的准备非常充分，提交的申办报告质量非常高。从考察情况来看，我们相信成都有能力办好世运会。我感觉到，成都是一个非常现代化的城市，空间感很足，交通便利，是世界上最适合居住的城市之一。我希望将来能以一个旅行者的身份再来这里，欣赏成都的美景。” Joachim Gossow则表示，从这次考察来看，成都已基本满足申办条件。他说：“成都是个国际化大都市，举办世运会将为成都带来更多国际元素。现在成都的软硬件条件已经很好，接下来需要的是营造良好的办赛氛围。”他表示，世运会比赛有趣而刺激，一定会给成都人民带来不一样的体验。
做足准备 成都迎接世运会
此次为了保证世运会申办工作的顺利推进，成都在硬件和软件方面做足了准备。“成都具备举办大型赛事的经验和条件。”相关负责人向记者介绍说，首先在交通方面，成都第二机场——天府国际机场计划于2021年正式投入使用，加上目前的成都双流国际机场，两个机场完全能够满足航空运输服务。便捷的市内公共交通，将为观众观看比赛提供保障。我市还将计划开通市民观赛班车、工作人员及媒体人员班车等。
优质的食宿是运动员良好临场发挥的重要保障。我市各大酒店完全能够满足赛会期间各类客户群的住宿需求，酒店将24小时提供多样化的餐饮服务。我市拥有完善先进的医疗服务、医疗急救和疾病预防控制体系以及大批经验丰富的医务人员和先进设备。赛会期间，竞赛场馆内将配备医护人员及急救车，场馆周边指定运动创伤医院，为与会者指定专用医院，提供便捷的绿色通道。世运会是世界瞩目的重要体育赛事。2025年世运会的媒体中心将全天24小时提供有力支持，确保世运会有效、广泛地传播，让精彩的赛事实况立体传播。
